Role Summary Rivian is building one of the most reliable, high-performance fast charging networks in the country, the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN). As Senior Manager, Head of West, you will lead the strategy, pipeline, and execution of RAN expansion across the western United States. This role sits above individual markets, owning regional performance end-to-end. You will guide where we prioritize, how we scale, and which partnerships unlock the next phase of growth. You will lead a team of Regional Managers and Associates, ensuring strong pipeline health, disciplined execution, and consistent delivery across the region. The Rivian Adventure Network is more than infrastructure, it’s a critical part of the ownership experience and a key driver of EV adoption. In this role, you will shape the western footprint of the network, defining not just where we go, but how we show up. Your leadership will directly influence the pace, quality, and impact of deployment across some of the most important EV markets in the country. Responsibilities Own Regional Strategy & Performance (West)
Define and continuously refine the market strategy across the western U.S.
Prioritize markets based on demand, infrastructure readiness, and strategic importance
Ensure alignment between regional execution and Rivian’s broader network vision
Own regional targets, performance tracking, and delivery outcomes
Build & Expand Strategic Partnerships
Establish and maintain senior relationships with key partners across the region, including:
Retailers and national brands
REITs and institutional property owners
Cities and municipalities
Economic Development Councils
Establish portfolio-level and multi-market partnerships that accelerate scale
Act as an executive point of contact for priority partners
Identify opportunities to unlock incremental value beyond charging within key partnerships, working closely with Business Development to expand scope and impact
Lead & Develop the Team
Manage and further develop a team of Regional Managers and Transaction Managers
Create clarity on priorities, expectations, and performance standards
Coach team members on deal strategy, negotiations, and pipeline management
Foster a high-performance culture built on extreme ownership, accountability, and execution excellence
Drive Pipeline Health & Scale
Ensure the region maintains a strong, balanced pipeline aligned to quarterly and long-term goals
Review and guide pipeline composition across markets and partners
Identify gaps early and redirect resources to maintain forward momentum
Standardize best practices for tracking, reporting, and execution across the region
Guide Deal Strategy & Execution
Support teams in navigating complex negotiations and high-value deals
Provide strategic input on commercial structures and partnership models
Help remove blockers and escalate issues when needed to maintain deal velocity
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with GTM, Business Development, Design, Engineering (EOR), Construction, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment from site acquisition through delivery as well as programmatic improvements and partnerships.
Act as a strategic thought partner to cross-functional leadership, sharing real-time market insights, emerging opportunities, and on-the-ground constraints
Drive consistency and rigor in how projects move through approvals and into execution
Operational Rigor & Planning
Establish clear, actionable regional plans to achieve quarterly goals and KPIs
Drive disciplined execution across all markets, ensuring accountability at every level of the team
Continuously improve processes, tools, and templates to increase efficiency, visibility, and predictability
Implement a consistent operating cadence to track performance, surface risks early, and maintain forward momentum
Champion the RAN Value Proposition
Ensure the team deeply understands and consistently communicates Rivian’s value proposition
Elevate partner conversations from transactional negotiations to long-term, strategic partnerships
Reinforce a long-term, network-first mindset in all deal-making and market decisions
Set a high bar for how RAN shows up in the market, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and partner experience
Qualifications
8-12+ years of experience in real estate, site acquisition, business development, sales or related fields
Proven track record of leading teams and delivering results at scale
Strong experience building and managing pipelines across multiple markets
Experience negotiating complex, multi-site or portfolio-level partnerships
Ability to operate both strategically (regional level) and tactically (deal level)
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills
Extreme ownership mindset with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams
Strong existing relationships with major regional or national partners
Track record of building and developing high-performing teams
Operator mindset: you don’t just set strategy, you ensure it gets executed
Pay Disclosure The salary range for this role is USD 159200 - 199000 for CA based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
