The Sr. Business Development Manager at Rimkus is responsible for driving business growth within an assigned territory by developing new client relationships and maintaining existing accounts. This role requires a strategic approach to sales, client engagement, and market penetration to secure new business opportunities and enhance Rimkus's market presence. The manager will collaborate closely with operations and leadership teams to meet revenue targets and support the delivery of high-quality expert services.
Develops and executes a Territory Growth Plan designed to achieve defined revenue and performance targets within the assigned California territory
Identifies, targets, and secures new business opportunities within the insurance defense, litigation support, and forensic consulting sectors
Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including law firms, insurance carriers, adjusters, and corporate clients
Demonstrates the ability to understand engineering and physical science disciplines sufficiently to align expert capabilities with client case needs
Leverages Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs as a primary business development tool to build firm-wide relationships, strengthen brand presence, and drive pipeline growth
Plans, develops, and delivers CLE presentations and client-facing content to position the firm as a trusted technical authority
Drives consistent in-field engagement through high-value client meetings, strategic calls, and relationship-building activities to increase market penetration
Identifies and pursues prospective clients using a strategic, data-driven approach, leveraging both internal and external resources
Expands relationships with existing clients by promoting additional service offerings and increasing share of wallet
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Utilizes CRM data and territory analytics to monitor performance, forecast revenue, and refine business development strategies
Leads and contributes to the preparation and delivery of proposals, including RFP responses and client presentations
Coordinates with operations to align client needs with appropriate technical experts and ensure successful project execution
Acts as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and timely issue resolution
Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and professional functions to enhance visibility and generate new opportunities
Supports efforts to ensure timely collection of receivables and overall client account health
Engages in significant in-field activity, including regular travel throughout the assigned territory
Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Risk Management, Insurance, Construction Management, Engineering, Legal Studies, or a related field
Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in business development, consultative sales, or client relationship management within professional or technical services
Demonstrated experience selling into insurance defense, litigation support, forensic consulting, or related industries
Proven track record of developing and executing territory growth strategies and achieving revenue targets
Experience working with law firms, insurance carriers, or similar client bases is strongly preferred
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required
Preferred Qualifications
Industry designations such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or ARM (Associate in Risk Management)
Established relationships with California-based insurance carriers, law firms, and/or corporate clients
Experience in forensic engineering, expert witness services, or litigation support environments
Strong understanding of the insurance claims and legal processes related to technical investigations
