**Job Summary**

The Associate Research Scientist is responsible for assisting the Research Scientist and the Formulation Sciences department in the development of new OTC Skin Care/Cosmetic/Personal Care products from concept to commercialization to support company growth.

**Schedule: **Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm

**Responsibilities/Essential Duties**

- Develop formulations for OTC Skin Care, Cosmetic & Personal Care products.

- Establishing/tracking formulation stability throughout the development process.

- Work on formulation changes/upgrades of existing products to improve cost.

- Assists with preparation of product registration documentation and product chemistry packages to meet regulatory requirements.

- Properly document all experimental work neatly and correctly and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

- Help establish guidelines and specifications for acceptance and testing of chemical raw materials and finished product.

- Conduct research, gather documentation and experiments to develop claim substantiation.

- Participate in team driven activities to facilitate on-going production improvements and/or new product development projects.

- Well organized and flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced highly matrixed environment while meeting established deadlines

- Performs additional duties as assigned.

**Basic Qualifications**

- BS/MS in Chemistry or related discipline.

- 1-3 years of experience in cosmetic/personal care product development.

- Experience with Viscometers, Mixers, pH meter and other OTC Skin Care/Cosmetic/Personal care Lab equipment is REQUIRED.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with the ability to communicate complex data effectively.

- Must possess the ability and desire to prioritize workload, multi-task and manage time effectively

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Prefer familiarity with OTC/Personal Care/Cosmetic Regulatory requirements and cGMP.

**Work Environment & Physical Requirements**

This position requires extended periods of standing and walking on a manufacturing floor environment. Protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gowning) must be worn as required. The role operates in a temperature-controlled pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs may be required. Must be available to respond to critical shift issues outside of scheduled hours on an as-needed basis.

**Job Overview**

The Executive Communications Specialist provides administrative, communications, and project coordination support to the Executive Office. Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the CEO, this role serves as a key partner in supporting executive engagement activities, marketing initiatives, reporting needs, and cross-functional coordination efforts.

This individual will play a critical role in ensuring projects, communications, and executive-facing materials are organized, polished, and delivered effectively. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. This will be hybrid position based out of our Nashville headquarters.

**Key Responsibilities **

- Executive Coordination & Calendar Support

- Manage and maintain executive engagement calendars for the CEO and Executive Office initiatives

- Partner with internal leadership to coordinate projects and deliverables

- Assist in tracking key deliverables, milestones, and deadlines across projects

- Track project status, timelines, deliverables, and key metrics. Communicate status updates and assist in keeping initiatives on track

- Content Support Materials

- Prepare, proofread, edit, and format presentations, proposals, executive one-pagers, and marketing collateral

- Develop polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and supporting materials

- Maintain and organize a brand-compliant marketing asset library and shared resources

- Assist with content updates and support light social media scheduling activities

**Education**

**Required Qualifications**

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

**Experience**

- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an administrative support, coordination, marketing, communications, or related role

- Experience supporting executive-level work, project coordination, event support, or marketing initiatives preferred

**Technical Skills**

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot preferred

- Familiarity with email marketing platforms and content management tools preferred

- Experience with Canva or similar design tools preferred

- Strong Excel skills and comfort creating reports and tracking tools

**Job Summary**

The **Senior Research Scientist, Sunscreen ** is responsible for leading the development of innovative skincare and personal care formulations from concept through commercialization within the Formulation Sciences organization. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert in formulation chemistry and partners cross-functionally to deliver products that meet quality, performance, regulatory, and business objectives. The position will lead formulation activities, support scale-up efforts, mentor junior team members, and drive innovation, while operating within a highly collaborative matrix environment.

**Reporting to: ** Vice President, R&D

**Responsibilities/Essential Duties**

- Lead formulation development activities for skincare, cosmetic, OTC, personal care, and related products from concept through commercialization.

- Serve as a technical expert in emulsion and surfactant chemistry with advanced expertise in sunscreen and cosmetic formulations.

- Design, execute, analyze, and interpret scientific experiments and studies to support formulation development and optimization.

- Evaluate and incorporate new ingredients, technologies, and industry trends to support innovation initiatives and continuous improvement.

- Modify and optimize existing formulations to address changing regulatory requirements, improve product performance, and drive cost efficiencies.

- Build and maintain effective partnerships with ingredient suppliers and external technical partners to support development activities.

- Partner closely with Process Development and Manufacturing teams to support formulation scale-up and technology transfer activities.

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial partners.

- Apply understanding of intellectual property strategy, including patent review and basic patent search methodologies, during product development efforts.

- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior scientists and team members.

- Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously while meeting established timelines and deliverables.

- Document research activities, experimental findings, and technical conclusions clearly and accurately.

**Basic Qualifications**

- Bachelor’s degree & 5+ years’ directly related experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

- 5-8 years’ experience in cosmetic, personal care, OTC, toiletries, or hair care formulation development.

- Advanced knowledge of emulsion and surfactant chemistry.

- Expertise in sunscreen and cosmetic formulation technologies.

- Strong expertise in formulation science with demonstrated experience developing products from concept through commercialization.

- Experience with experimental design, scientific problem-solving, and data-driven decision making.

- Working knowledge of cosmetic ingredients and formulation technologies.

- Familiarity with cosmetic and/or OTC regulatory requirements and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

- Experience supporting product scale-up and manufacturing transfer activities.

- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
