2. About the Opportunity:The WC Claims Specialist manages lower-level, non-complex workers’ compensation claims within delegated authority under the supervision of a senior claims professional. This role supports the claims department’s objectives by ensuring claims are handled accurately and efficiently, contributing to optimal outcomes for customers and clients. The position is remote and plays a key role in upholding client and carrier guidelines while assisting with more complex claims as needed.
3. Responsibilities:• Receive workers’ compensation claims and confirm policy coverage
• Determine validity and compensability of claims
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within limits
• Manage non-complex lost-time claims under close supervision
• Communicate claim status to customers, claimants, and clients
• Adhere to client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims reviews
• Assist with complex or problematic claims as necessary
• Perform additional projects and duties as assigned
4. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience and claims management preferred
• Current Workers’ Compensation license or certification maintained throughout employment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and develop claims knowledge
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to meet performance competencies
• Capable of working independently and in a team environment
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• Pay range: $52,999 – $85,473
• Salary varies based on location, experience, skills, qualifications, and market conditions
• Level placement during hiring may adjust salary within this range
