2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior IT Project Manager is a strategic leader responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, enterprise-wide healthcare IT initiatives. This role ensures projects align with business goals and clinical workflows while managing risk, governance, and executive reporting. The position drives collaboration across IT, clinical, operations, and finance teams and leads continuous improvement of project management processes to enhance delivery quality and consistency.
3. Responsibilities:
• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of enterprise IT initiatives
• Develop project charters, business cases, scope, budgets, schedules, resource plans, and risk strategies
• Define success criteria, Key Performance Indicators, and post-deployment validation plans
• Manage project financials including forecasting, budget tracking, and ROI analysis
• Ensure adherence to PMO governance standards and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
• Maintain documentation, reporting, and project lifecycle management
• Provide timely status reporting to leadership and steering committees
• Facilitate communication between business leaders, IT teams, and executives
• Lead workshops, requirements gathering, and steering committee meetings
• Translate technical concepts into clear business language for stakeholders
• Support development of business cases and project proposals
• Lead cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, engineers, vendors, and clinical specialists
• Assign responsibilities, manage resources, and remove obstacles
• Foster accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Support vendor selection and manage vendor performance, budgets, and contractual compliance
• Coordinate internal and external resources for successful project execution
• Identify and implement improvements to project delivery standards and PMO tools
• Participate in enterprise process improvement initiatives
• Develop and improve project documentation templates and workflows
• Perform related duties as required or requested by supervisor
4. Requirements:
• Four-year college degree
• Minimum five years of progressive IT project management experience, with at least four years in healthcare IT
• Experience delivering large-scale, complex, cross-functional enterprise programs
• Knowledge of healthcare systems such as EHR platforms, interoperability, infrastructure, or cybersecurity
• Understanding of clinical and operational workflows in healthcare settings
• Preferred project management certifications (e.g., CAPM, CSM, PMP)
• Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with executive presence
• Leadership skills to influence stakeholders without direct authority
• Experience managing change initiatives and applying formal change management methods
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, ambiguous environments
• Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Base Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 per year plus bonus opportunity depending on qualifications
