2. About the Opportunity:The Operations Assistant supports the BridgeUSA Summer Work Travel Program by providing customer service and operational assistance to international university participants and host employers in the Mid-Atlantic region. This role ensures smooth participant experiences by managing applications, securing housing, vetting employers, and supporting ongoing program compliance and participant welfare.
3. Responsibilities:• Handle high volumes of calls and emails from participants and employers
• Respond to inquiries about insurance, Social Security, housing, job concerns, and transportation within one business day
• Research and apply U.S. government regulations related to the J-1 visa program
• Address urgent or escalated participant health, safety, and welfare issues
• Vet employer placements to meet government standards
• Update and renew host employer documents
• Mediate concerns between employers and participants
• Ensure program compliance throughout the season
• Maintain accurate participant and employer records
• Confirm participant arrivals and monthly check-ins using the program database
• Research and secure housing for participants
• Attend regional and all-team meetings and trainings
• Assist with employer job descriptions, participant interviews, and selection
• Conduct occasional site visits to employers and participants
• Plan and implement cultural activities
• Participate in community support group meetings and orientations
• Assist in reporting participant issues to the U.S. Department of State
• Perform other duties as assigned
4. Requirements:• Experience handling high volumes of calls and emails
• Customer service experience
• Knowledge or experience with the BridgeUSA Summer Work Travel program preferred
• Experience in cultural exchange programs preferred
• Remote work experience preferred but not required
• Associate''s degree or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with international cultures
• Strong writing and time management skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook; Salesforce experience a plus
• Ability to work remotely without onsite supervision
• Availability for on-call emergency support on a rotating schedule
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude
• Valid driver’s license and availability for occasional domestic travel
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
