About the Opportunity : The Accountant plays a key role in managing the capitalization of fixed assets and supporting the annual depreciation budgeting process. This position ensures accurate financial reporting and analysis, facilitating coordination between finance and operations to maintain budgetary control and support audit requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain the plant ledger for all health system assets.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, and expense journal entries.
- Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, useful life analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Perform detailed monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly fiscal reports and supporting schedules related to capital projects.
- Analyze and report variances between actual and budgeted financial results.
- Serve as a liaison between finance and operations by coordinating financial data.
- Assist in the annual depreciation budget process.
- Coordinate the compilation and reconciliation of the annual budget.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors and government audits.
- Make independent decisions on work methods, seeking guidance when needed.
- Provide administrative support as required.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel required; database knowledge preferred.
