Kleiner Perkins-backed AI startup redefining D2C performance marketing
Mountain View, CA | On-site (5 days/week; hybrid considered for candidates 1+ hours away)
About the Role: This is a rare 0-to-1 PMM opportunity at a $25M Seed-funded AI company backed by Kleiner Perkins and founded by operators who spent over a decade building ad platforms and e-commerce engines at Google and Instacart. The company is building autonomous AI agents that enable D2C brands to dramatically scale sales without manual campaign management — targeting a $1T industry ripe for disruption. You'll be the first dedicated Product Marketing Manager, responsible for articulating where this industry is going and making this company the defining voice of the AI-native marketing category. This is not a brand-awareness role — it requires deep, non-negotiable domain expertise in ads, performance marketing, and e-commerce. You need to credibly speak the language of CMOs and performance marketers who live and breathe ROAS and campaign optimization. The team is 25 people strong, humble, and technical. SMB customers are already seeing a 40% lift in results, and a growing client waitlist speaks to the momentum. You're joining at exactly the right moment — early enough to own the category narrative, with the resources to move fast. What You'll Do
Lead the go-to-market launch of the company's partially autonomous marketing product — defining positioning, messaging, and angles for a platform where customers gain more control over their campaigns
Own end-to-end messaging that translates complex AI agent capabilities into clear, compelling narratives for brands and performance marketers
Drive product launches from internal alignment to external rollout for new features and agent capabilities
Build sales enablement collateral — decks, one-pagers, case studies — that arm the sales team with a sharp ROI story to convert prospects
Shape and evangelize the AI-native marketing platform category, partnering cross-functionally with Product, Growth, and Founders
Why This Seat
First dedicated PMM hire — full ownership of positioning and GTM for a category being defined in real time
$25M Seed from Kleiner Perkins, with founder DNA from Google and Instacart
Real traction: paying customers, growing waitlist, and measurable 40% lift in client results
Small team (25 people) means you work directly with founders and have outsized visibility and impact
This is a foundational, career-defining role in the AI marketing wave — not a maintenance job
