**Crux Subsurface ** is seeking a Field Quality Engineer to support a wide range of shallow and deep foundation construction projects, with a strong focus on design-build delivery for electrical transmission and distribution work. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and construction management professionals while validating the quality of field construction activities.

The Field Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring all work conforms to project quality management plans, engineering drawings and specifications, contract requirements, and applicable state and local regulations. While our office is based in Spokane Valley and Sumner, Washington, this is a primarily remote, travel-focused role supporting projects across the United States.

**What You'll Do **

- Competently review and interpret project documents to understand quality inspection and reporting requirements.

- Competently review and interpret all available geologic and geotechnical data in advance of fieldwork.

- Plan and collaborate with and receive direction from multiple stakeholders (Operations management, Engineering, and Construction personnel).

- Perform technical tasks (measurements, calculations, etc.) and manage technical issues, including recommending solutions or alternatives, with limited oversight when necessary.

- Develop, maintain, and submit pre-construction planning documentation, including construction work plans and schedules, quality management plans, and submittals.

- Receive, inspect, and track materials.

- Perform inspections of work quality and materials.

- Develop, maintain, and submit accurate and complete quality and materials management records.

- Collect and perform independent review and audit of quality records developed by construction personnel.

- Sample, characterize, and log geotechnical materials using company procedures and commonly accepted standards.

- Provide direction to construction personnel regarding minimum foundation installation requirements when necessary.

- Develop, maintain, and submit daily construction field reports.

- Sample, prepare, and transport grout and concrete specimens.

- Install, operate, and troubleshoot geophysical testing and downhole imaging equipment. Review and interpret results and readings for adequacy.

- Accurately perform and complete administrative tasks as required.

**What You'll Bring **

- Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, geoloogic science, construction management. Consideration is given to prior relatable experience.

- 0-2 years quality inspection or quality management experience, preferably construction related.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

- Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent critical thinking and planning skills.

- Strong work ethic – able to work in a team and willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

- Able to balance, kneel, crouch, and walk/hike through uneven and steep terrain, occasionally at high altitude.

- Able to climb ladders and equipment and access working platforms 4 to 6 feet above ground.

- Able to access remote work sites by travel on helicopter.

- Valid United States driver’s license.

- Able to travel domestically (required) and internationally (preferred).

The **Design Project Engineer ** is responsible for utility engineering in distribution and transmission teams. This role incorporates the utilization of various drafting and design programs (PLS-CADD/AutoCAD) to ensure that work product deliverable meets client standards and specifications.

There are four main groups within the Potelco Engineering Department: Transmission, Joint Facilities Notification (JFN), Cable Replacement and Maintenance, and Overloaded Transformer Elimination Program (OTEP) where you may use your skills. The pay for this role is a range of $40-$48/hr.

**What You'll Do **

- Provides electric utility engineering for operation and maintenance projects. This includes the interpretation and development of distribution designs congruent with utility standards.

- Pole line analysis on existing or new transmission/distribution structures in relation to scope of work. Using pole line analysis tools to analyze structural integrity of new or existing structures. Using standards and best practices to maintain clearances from existing structures, as needed.

- Calculates and drafts designs, which include an understanding of voltage regulation, electrical load calculations, system protection, and fuse coordination for distribution systems.

- Input of bill of materials for assigned scope of work.

- Manages the project life cycle using work order management systems.

- Assists utility engineering team by performing field visits to gather information, as required.

- Administrative functions and other tasks as needed.

**Potelco, Inc. ** is seeking a **Project Engineer ** to join our Transmission Engineering Team in **Spokane, WA **. This position supports various clients' transmission analysis and design utilizing PLS-CADD, with a focus on serving clients in proximity to Spokane. As a Project Engineer I, this position requires at least one year of directly applicable experience within an electric utility or telecommunications position, preferably using PLS-CADD. Candidates with no prior applicable industry experience may be considered at the Associate Project Engineer level.

The anticipated compensation for this position is $36–$48/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.

**What You'll Do**

- Work primarily independently on individual projects, collaborating with other group members and departments as needed.

- Review customer application documents, notifications, and scopes of work, and work collaboratively with customers to resolve inconsistencies.

- Perform field site visits to gather and verify project and existing equipment information.

- Read and interpret utility standards, the National Electrical Safety Code, Washington Administrative Code, and county and city jurisdictional requirements to analyze transmission structures, evaluate clearances, and design replacements.

- Utilize field notes, LiDAR, mapping software, records, photos, and other pertinent resources to complete 3D modeling for analysis and reporting.

- Apply critical thinking and deductive reasoning to solve complex problems where only limited standardization exists.

- Communicate project status, concerns, obstacles, and make-ready work clearly and tactfully with technical and non-technical individuals, including customers, coworkers, construction crews, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

- Manage numerous concurrent projects with flexibility to shifting priorities.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university; or three-plus years of related experience and/or training in lieu of education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality of work.
