About the role

Position Summary
The Telecom Implementation Specialist is responsible for executing end-to-end VoIP implementation projects, ensuring seamless deployment and high-quality service delivery for customers. This role owns key phases of implementation including planning, configuration, network validation, hardware installation, and go-live support.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise in VoIP systems and networking, high attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Install, configure, and test VoIP hardware and software including IP phones, conference phones, door phones, paging adapters, and UCaaS platforms
● Conduct site surveys to assess technical requirements, infrastructure readiness, and deployment risks
● Perform pre-installation network and ISP testing to ensure optimal voice quality and reliability
● Configure and validate network settings (QoS, VLANs, DHCP, TCP/IP) to support VoIP performance
● Complete data validation and VoIP account setup to ensure accurate system configuration
● Manage phone number porting and service activation workflows to support smooth transitions
● Troubleshoot network and voice issues during implementation and escalate when necessary
● Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation for future service and support needs
● Provide end-user training and documentation to ensure successful adoption
● Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on timelines and expectations
● Perform additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For
● High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
● 2+ years of experience in VoIP implementation, telecom, or network deployment roles
● Strong understanding of VoIP systems, data networks, and related hardware
● Proficiency in networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, QoS, and VLANs
● Experience with hosted PBX systems required; on-premise systems a plus
● Proven ability to troubleshoot network and voice quality issues
● Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts clearly
● Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
