- Assist in extending an existing spatial model of text-based ideology derived from congressional floor speeches and social media posts
- Conduct research using Python and bespoke APIs for data scraping
- Implement natural language processing and machine learning techniques on large datasets
- Collaborate with team members on research initiatives
- Utilize high-memory GPU resources for data handling and processing
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Current undergraduate student at the employer
- Proficient in Python, natural language processing, and machine learning
- Experience with bespoke APIs for scraping material and handling large data
- Access to at least one high-memory GPU, either personally or through the employer's Data Analytics Center
- Resume and cover letter submission required
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Familiarity with PyTorch and relevant codebases
- Knowledge or interest in the U.S. Congress
- Previous experience in research or academic settings
