As a Electrical Engineer, you'll be a key member of the New Product Development core team and play a critical role in the success of prototyping and testing new products and service offerings for our commercial business units in subsea robotics, material handling automation, and in people mover applications, among others. Focusing on deepwater installations and field developments, we deliver tailored solutions—from the routine to the extreme. We provide fit-for-purpose engineering design through the entire asset lifecycle, including decommissioning. We contract, manage, engineer, and execute projects using our global vessel fleet, including Jones Act-compliant vessels, advanced technologies, and highly skilled personnel.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effective engagement with technical and non-technical customers and partners to generate feedback for product improvements from targeted experiments, pilots and proof-of-concepts.
- Interpret and decompose customer feedback and testing data into actionable technical requirements that may bridge disciplines, and coordinate with technical personnel from across the company and around the world.
- Work within a multi- disciplined teams to define system level architecture and technically lead execution of developments across the company.
- Given incomplete, high-level requirements for a system or subsystem of moderate complexity, generate proper designs and work to complete tasking with latitude to make decisions under minimal supervision – individually and in a teamwork environment.
- Exercise excellent technical judgement, creativity, and initiative with attention to detail consistently throughout your work product, with awareness of the “system” perspective.
- Prepare and participate in regular design reviews.
- Responsible and accountable for your results, working with considerable autonomy, but also knowing when to ask for assistance.
- Desire to stretch and expand your talents, expertise, competency, and responsibilities
- Identify patent opportunities and work with our legal team to evaluate them.
- Promote a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Conduct evaluations and comparisons of internal and external technologies and approaches to inform business and product decisions

Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science or advanced degree from an accredited university in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related field/curriculum having an Electrical concentration, such as Computer Engineering or Robotics Engineering). Commensurate experience will be considered.
- Ability to work alongside a mentor for direction and growth of hardware and software knowledge
- Understanding of the creative Electrical engineering process, including participation in the concept, analysis, simulation, design, drawing, assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical software embedded systems
- Familiarity with hardware to software machine connections and communications
- Must be a US citizen.
DESIRED
- Knowledge and/or experience selecting and sizing current and latest available electrical and electronic components and wiring devices, such as signal conditioning, power supplies, control devices, switching devices, SSRs, safety devices, terminal blocks, connectors, DIN rail, wiring, cabling, marshalling, dressing, etc.
- Experience designing, interfacing, translating, and integrating various data communications signaling, such as Ethernet, USB, and serial protocols.
- Experience with DC power systems design 5-48VDC.
- Experience with low-medium voltage, single- and 3-phase power systems (120, 240, 480VAC).
- Calculate and estimate system power and energy requirements.
- Experience designing, wiring, cabling, grounding for minimizing electrical noise and EMI, as appropriate.
- Good electrical drawing/drafting skills – accurately create and read detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, system cabling and block diagrams, etc.
- Proficiency in proper use and application of various standard electronic test equipment; e.g., DMM/multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, communications analyzers, CTDR, OTDR, optical power meters, etc.
- Proficiency with advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD), Simulation, and Analysis software packages such as SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MathCAD, MATLAB, etc.
- Good written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively document, convey, and present engineering concepts and products to team members and customers.
- Good practical technician skills (assembly, wiring, soldering, cabling, etc.)
- Ability and flexibility to travel on occasion, typically pre-planned for up to one to two weeks at a time; may be within the US or outside the US.

- Proven proficiency in common computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able and eager to quickly learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions
This position is considered REMOTE HOME/OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
- Work will be performed both remotely and in office with 3 days onsite per week
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
- Work surface is stable (flat)
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
