NovelEsolutions has been in business for over 11 years with contracts Statewide and with the federal market sector. Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Geologist located in the Greater Tampa Bay Area, allowing for a combination of fieldwork, office-based duties, and remote work. Responsibilities include conducting geological fieldwork, creating detailed site assessments, performing geological mapping, supervising drilling and logging activities, and applying geophysics methods to evaluate subsurface conditions. The Geologist will also be involved in contamination assessments, remediation projects, and other environmental services aligned with the company's solutions. Specific role requirements include:
Maintain client relations with ongoing, targeted communication.
Supervise office and field staff working on designated projects.
Documentation of field activities in a field book as required by federal, state or local regulations. Field documentation shall be submitted in a timely manner (within one week).
Daily interaction and communications with not only our employees but local engineers, water operators, city/business managers, regulatory agencies, teaming partners, and leaders.
Tracking of new SOPs, Rules and Guidelines to stay current on requirements in each State that we are working in.
Interpret field data. Review environmental data. Prepare reports and other submittals.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Geoscience.
Minimum four (4) years of experience performing environmental site investigations in accordance with Chapter 62-780, FAC.
Minimum three (3) years direct experience in DEP Petroleum Cleanup rules, guidance, and contaminants, including the management and supervision of multidisciplinary environmental personnel.
Possess problem solving skills enabling efficient and knowledgeable staff and client interactions.
Ability to work in the field to conduct oversight of drilling operations.
Knowledge of FDEP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ability to conduct sediment, soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling as needed
Knowledge of Florida State environmental rules, regulations and guidance. Knowledge of other state and EPA regulations will be ongoing in this position.
Strong understanding of hydrology, fate and transport, and groundwater remediation principles.
Expertise in Field Work and Logging for geological and environmental assessments
Proficiency in Geological Mapping and interpreting geological data
Familiarity with Geophysics techniques and analysis
Experience with Drilling operations and overseeing related projects
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certifications such as a Professional Geologist (PG) license are preferred but not required
Work Environment
Office work and fieldwork approximately ~50/50 split.
Must be self-motivated and willing to travel.
Office space is available with the option to work remotely.
