Summary
Novagard is a Woman Owned manufacturer of sealants, coatings, lubricants, & foams that are engineered for a broad range of markets. As part of Novagard’ s Building Systems team, the East Region Sales Director will manage a sales territory and go to market strategy focused on high performance sealants and coatings market focused on OEMs. This individual will be responsible for exceeding annual targets for sales and margin dollars. They will be the go-to person for key customers as well as key industry associates within their territory while working closely with Customer Operations, Marketing, Field Tech and other Novagard functional support teams to achieve success. This is a remote position that will utilize sales partners and distribution and therefore will require the ability to coordinate field activities, promote our products, and work with our sales partners and distributors to do the same. This person will have the lead in ensuring our channel partners are properly trained in select markets to support sales and service efforts in local geographies and ensure overall regional success.
Responsibilities Include
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for key OEM customers including window & door residential glazing (RG), insulating glass (IG), unitizers.
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to drive accelerated sales growth and align sales partners and distribution channels to same to succeed at highly valued customers.
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of Novagard’s products and services while educating the customers, distribution, and sales partners on them.
  • Establish and maintain relationships at C‑suite and executive level to drive multi‐year supply agreements which may include private‑label partnerships.
  • Recruiting, training and supervising of sales partners in region to ensure value justifies cost. This includes setting sales goals, evaluating performance, and providing feedback and coaching.
  • Meet business growth expectations by developing new accounts, winning additional business with existing accounts, and selling new products into assigned accounts and target customers.
  • Increase share of architectural firm specifications impacting projects in your region. Lead and coordinate others to support this initiative.
  • Conducting in-plant and onsite job visits, investigations & product testing. Candidate must be comfortable working on active construction job sites while maintaining a safety-first mindset.
  • Generate professionally written proposals & technical documents, prepare and deliver sales presentations, plan customer meetings, and demonstrate product capabilities passionately and effectively.
  • Providing detailed reports and communicate internally on sales activities, price actions, results, forecasts and mapping creative solutions to maximize customer satisfaction, share, and profitability.
  • Conducting market research to identify selling possibilities and high value opportunities. This includes staying informed about market trends, competitor activities, and the latest products and services.
  • Utilize knowledge of regional residential and commercial construction projects and work with architects, consultants, engineers, general contractors & associated sub-contractors as needed to secure Novagard products on those projects.
  • In partnership with Marketing, develop targeted demand‐generation programs and technical collateral for OEM markets.
  • In partnership with Product Management, identify product gaps and ongoing roadmaps.
  • Success will be related to the residential and commercial sealant and coating OEM segment utilizing strong industry relationships. As such, you must identify and win key relationships across the entire value chain, earn their upcoming business, and coordinate activities between these people and our Distributors, Sales Partners, and Novagard functional support teams.
  • Extensive travel within the U.S. and Canada will be required (~60%).

Qualifications
  • BS or BA
  • Minimum 10 years of experience selling in a business-to-business environment within the construction industry. Strong technical capabilities with understanding of processes used within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in various sales techniques and knowledge of the sales process.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (salesforce a plus) is beneficial.
  • Ability to analyze data and sales indicators and translate results into better solutions.
  • Ability to lead and motivate sales partners and distribution channels.
  • Performance and achievement-oriented with an expectation of winning and a proven track record.
  • Must be able to articulate performance differences between Novargd’s portfolio and competitive products.
  • Working remote – requires highly motivated and strong organizational skills to succeed.
  • Solid and efficient PC-based computer skills including but not limited to CRM tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and act with urgency and timeliness.
