Global Leader in defense and compliance systems is seeking a Field Reliability Engineer to help ensure systems deliver exceptional reliability and performance in real-world environments. This role focuses on understanding how products perform after deployment, identifying reliability issues, and driving improvements based on field performance data. The Field Reliability Engineer will serve as the critical link between field performance, engineering, quality, and operations, ensuring that lessons learned from real-world product usage are quickly translated into product improvements and corrective actions. Key Responsibilities:
Receive and catalog returned products and components associated with field performance issues.
Document failure conditions, product configuration, and service history in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Conduct detailed teardown, inspection, and functional testing of returned products to identify failure modes.
Perform hands-on analysis of mechanical, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems to determine root causes of failures.
Lead cross-functional investigations with inputs from Engineering, Quality, and Operations to determine root causes of field failures.
Lead manufacturing process improvements, including updates to assembly procedures, work instructions, jigs, fixtures, and tooling when failures are linked to production processes.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience diagnosing hardware failures and performing root cause investigations.
Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, or fault tree analysis.
3–8 years of experience in reliability engineering, failure analysis, mechanical engineering, or related roles.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
