Location: Remote (US) Travel: ~1 week/month Type: Contract (1 year) Rate: $60–64/hour (W2) + Benefits Hours: 40/week (EST) Project: Power Plant (Gas Power) Note: This is a Project Engineering Manager (technical/engineering) role, not a Project Manager position. The Project Engineering Manager leads the engineering execution of power plant projects with Balance of Plant (BOP) scope. This role is responsible for technical leadership, engineering coordination, and ensuring project delivery aligns with customer requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations. You will work cross-functionally with global teams and act as the key technical interface for stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage engineering scope, schedule, and execution for assigned projects
Serve as the technical focal point for customers, partners, and internal teams
Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams and ensure alignment with contract requirements
Review customer specifications and communicate requirements to design teams
Support proposal, sourcing, and project management functions
Evaluate scope changes for technical, financial, and schedule impact
Ensure compliance with quality standards and drive continuous improvement
Manage technical risks, issues, and lessons learned
Provide technical guidance across engineering, sourcing, and installation teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or related STEM field
6+ years of relevant industry experience
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience managing engineering teams or projects
Knowledge of power plant systems (e.g., turbomachinery, generators, electrical, controls, BOP)
Familiarity with mechanical/electrical codes and compliance
Preferred:
Experience in energy sector or large-scale engineering projects
Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process engineering
Experience working in global, matrixed organizations
