Position Overview
Monetary Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-growth company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take ownership of accounting processes in a dynamic, fully remote setting.
Key Objectives
  • Maintain accurate and timely accounting records across all financial systems.
  • Support accounts payable, bank transactions, and general ledger activities.
  • Assist in financial reporting and audit readiness.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.

Core Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
  • Validate vendor bills and ensure proper approvals are obtained.
  • Record and maintain accounts payable in the accounting system.
  • Send remittance advice to vendors to ensure proper application of payments.

Bank Transactions
  • Record and classify bank transactions accurately and promptly within the accounting system.

General Ledger Maintenance
  • Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Reconcile accounts and update financial transactions.
  • Ensure proper classification, accuracy, and documentation of accounting records.

Financial Reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting.

Audit Support
  • Support external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations.
  • Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with audit processes.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
