Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Community In-patient rehabilitation Band 5 rotation based at Magnolia unit ( Complex multipathology / Stroke - Neuro) , Capetown ward ( general inpatient rehabilitation ) and Canterbury ward( Non- weight bearing and stepdown pathway) . There is potential to expand the rotations to cover community services in future. Candidates will need the skills and ability to cope with fast paced MDT environment. The Occupational Therapy team is part of the Integrated Therapies Service and staff benefit from a supportive environment and excellent learning opportunities though collaborative care team working. The successful post holder will be required to participate in seven day working rota. Undergraduate experience of working in a variety of healthcare settings
Experience of OT assessment and intervention with patients in a physical acute, rehab and/or community setting (e.g. medical, surgical, orthopaedic or neurological patients across the lifespan).
Experience of continuing professional development Knowledge of the occupational therapy process and application for clinical practice
Knowledge of models of OT practice and practical application
Knowledge and understanding of evidence based practice.
Awareness of group working
Awareness of the role of OT within a physical rehabilitation setting
Awareness of recent NHS legislation, recommendations, NICE guidelines
