Responsibilities The Network Delivery Team is responsible for the design and delivery of all network infrastructure services to the Trust. These services include:
High speed, highly available network services
Network configuration & support services
Firewall & security services
Remote access services
We are seeking to supplement our current team with an energetic Network Engineer with strong network service skills. The successful individual will be involved in delivery and support of a range of network service solutions and assist in the delivery of our programme of network technology modernisation. Main duties of the job Supporting enterprise network infrastructure and services. Supporting the connectivity of enterprise wireless client devices. Supporting WAN connectivity to remote sites. Network management and administration, alerting and reporting using modern protocols. Assist in the development of network infrastructure services in line with the requirements of departmental policies, practices and documentation standards. To maintain, modify and upgrade the Trust’s £8,000,000 network infrastructure in order to ensure it remains reliable and fit for purpose. This includes not only the main campus, but also the 40 smaller community sites around Sheffield. To Support The Wider Network Team
To manage a wide spectrum of service requests to completion.
To react and resolve incidents in a timely manner assigned at 3rd line through incident management.
To manage and escalate incidents to third parties or internal specialists when appropriate.
To perform service requests to agreed and documented standards.
To assist the Service Desk and Service Support Teams with all aspects of service transition, change management and release management in connection with the development and introduction of new network services. To provide assistance to the Senior Network Engineers where required. Where necessary, escalate issues to end users, third parties or senior members of the directorate.
