Role Description
The Planning Department Lead will oversee the strategic planning and management of projects within the Planning Department at Michael Baker International. This will include leading a team of professionals in delivering comprehensive planning services, managing client relationships, and ensuring project schedules and budgets are met. The position requires coordination and collaboration with stakeholders to address project budgets, timelines, and deliverables. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Southern Cell office.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in urban planning, transportation planning, or infrastructure planning and management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in data analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), and related planning tools
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and standards related to urban and environmental planning
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify innovative solutions for complex planning challenges
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred
  • Professional certification such as AICP or equivalent is a strong asset
  • Proficiency in project budgeting and financial management is a plus
