As MAP grows, secure, efficient internal systems are essential to protect data, streamline operations, and maintain trust across all programs. About PromiseShield | Risk, Compliance & Secure Systems PromiseShield is MAP’s division responsible for safeguarding, privacy, compliance, and organizational risk. The division ensures that all systems—technical and operational—are built with security, integrity, and responsible data use at the center. Role Overview We are seeking a Chrome Extension & Google Workspace Developer to build secure, lightweight internal tools that support MAP’s operations while maintaining strong privacy and data protection standards. This role focuses on developing Chrome extensions, Google Apps Script tools, and Workspace-based applications that are not only functional—but secure, compliant, and aligned with data governance practices . This is a builder role with a security-first mindset . Key Responsibilities Secure Chrome Extension Development
Build and maintain Chrome extensions for internal use
Ensure extensions follow secure coding practices and data protection standards
Limit and manage permissions appropriately
Google Workspace & Apps Script Development
Develop tools using Google Apps Script (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drive, Gmail)
Automate workflows while ensuring secure data handling
Build applications within the Google Workspace ecosystem
Privacy & Data Protection Alignment
Ensure all tools align with internal privacy policies and data governance practices
Minimize data exposure and enforce access controls
Collaborate with compliance teams on secure system design
Internal Systems & Automation
Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation
Build tools that reduce manual processes while maintaining control and oversight
Support operational efficiency without compromising security
Collaboration with Project Leadership
Work with internal project managers to define requirements
Translate needs into secure, functional tools
Iterate based on feedback and compliance considerations
Testing, Monitoring & Maintenance
Test tools for reliability, usability, and security
Troubleshoot issues and maintain system integrity
Update tools as needs evolve
Documentation & Access Control
Document systems, workflows, and usage clearly
Ensure tools are accessible only to appropriate users
Support secure onboarding and adoption
Communication & Responsiveness
Maintain clear, timely communication via Google Workspace
Coordinate across technical, operations, and compliance teams
Qualifications Required
Experience with JavaScript and Chrome Extension development
Experience with Google Apps Script and Google Workspace tools
Understanding of secure coding practices and data handling principles
Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills
Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values
Preferred
Experience in security-focused development or internal tools
Familiarity with access control, permissions, and data governance
Experience with APIs and system integrations
Interest in privacy, compliance, and risk-aware development

Volunteer role
Approximately 5–10 hours per week
