Sales and Events Manager (Part-Time Employee – Approx. 20 Hours per Week) Lost Barrel Brewing & LoCo Kitchen Middleburg / Sterling, Virginia Lost Barrel Brewing, an award-winning craft brewery located on a picturesque 70-acre horse farm in the heart of Middleburg, Virginia’s renowned Hunt Country, is seeking a Sales and Events Manager to help grow our special events and catering services. Since opening in December 2020, Lost Barrel Brewing has established itself as a premier destination for exceptional craft beer, hard seltzers, chef-driven cuisine, live entertainment, and memorable events. With a taproom, expansive porch, and scenic grounds, Lost Barrel delivers warm hospitality and high-quality experiences for guests, families, and the local community. Also within the Lost Barrel family is our professional catering and events division, LoCo Kitchen , based in Sterling, Virginia, providing upscale full-service catering and event hosting for homes, offices, weddings, private events, and off-site venues throughout the region. Position Summary: The Sales and Events Manager is a key revenue-focused role responsible for driving and expanding on-site and off-site catering sales, as well as creating and coordinating on-site events. This hybrid position combines proactive sales, relationship building, and hands-on event execution within a dynamic brewery and hospitality environment. This role has strong growth potential and may evolve into a full-time position based on performance and business growth. Key Responsibilities :• Proactively identify, develop, and secure new catering, private event, corporate event, and special event opportunities through networking, outreach, referrals, and relationship building • Serve as the lead sales contact for prospective clients by managing inquiries, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing event and catering sales • Develop creative event concepts, promotional ideas, themed experiences, and partnership opportunities designed to increase bookings, guest engagement, and revenue • Coordinate event planning details including timelines, guest counts, vendor coordination, logistics, and client communications before transitioning execution responsibilities to the Lost Barrel Brewing and LoCo Kitchen operations teams • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure a seamless handoff and successful event execution • Collaborate with leadership, the Executive Chef, Head Brewer, and Tasting Room Manager on event programming, seasonal offerings, food and beverage pairings, and promotional initiatives • Utilize CRM and event management platforms to track leads, sales activity, contracts, bookings, and performance metrics • Identify strategic partnerships, community relationships, and marketing opportunities that enhance brand visibility and drive event and catering revenue Qualifications Required: • 3+ years of experience in sales, event management, hospitality, catering, or related business development roles with a demonstrated ability to generate leads and close sales • Proven experience building client relationships and managing the sales process from initial inquiry through signed contract • Strong organizational, project management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects, clients, and deadlines • Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique event concepts and revenue-generating opportunities • Proficient with CRM systems and sales reporting tools • Must be at least 21 years of age Preferred: • Direct experience in hospitality, catering, private events, weddings, or venue sales • Background in the craft beverage, brewery, restaurant, or event industry • Established relationships within the Northern Virginia event, wedding, or corporate community Compensation: Competitive hourly compensation + commission opportunities tied to catering bookings and event sales, plus employee discounts and product perks.
