Lela Rose is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Retail Manager to lead our first California Store at The Post, Montecito. This role requires a refined, client-centric leader who understands the nuances of luxury retail and is passionate about cultivating meaningful, long-term relationships. The ideal candidate will drive business through exceptional clienteling, elevated service, and a deep understanding of the Lela Rose brand, while developing a best-in-class team and acting as a key partner to the corporate office. Key Responsibilities
Embody and communicate the Lela Rose brand, aesthetic, and values, ensuring a consistently elevated in-store experience
Drive sales performance through a highly personalized, relationship-based approach, achieving and exceeding weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals
Lead from the sales floor, setting the tone for an exceptional, hospitality-driven client experience
Build, nurture, and expand a robust client book, with a focus on retention, repeat business, and lifetime client value
Mentor and coach the team on advanced clienteling strategies, including outreach, follow-up, and personalized selling
Develop deep product expertise across all categories and ensure the team can confidently style and sell the full collection
Act as a brand ambassador, cultivating relationships with VIP clients, stylists, and local influencers to drive awareness and loyalty
Partner closely with Marketing to host intimate, high-touch in-store events that strengthen client relationships and drive sales
Collaborate with the DTC team on assortment planning, ensuring the store reflects both brand vision and client demand
Oversee inventory through a strategic lens, ensuring optimal assortment while maintaining accuracy across systems
Work cross-functionally with Operations to ensure seamless deliveries and stock flow
Lead all aspects of team development, including recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing coaching, with a focus on building a polished, client-focused team
Maintain an elevated and inclusive store environment that reflects the brand’s standards of service and hospitality
Serve as the primary liaison between the store, our other retail stores, and Corporate, ensuring alignment on business priorities and initiatives
Participate in company trainings
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in retail, with a proven track record of driving sales through client relationships
An established leader with a strong personal client book and a passion for cultivating and maintaining long-term client connections
Highly skilled in clienteling, with a thoughtful and strategic approach to outreach and relationship management
A polished and confident communicator, capable of leading a team and engaging with a discerning clientele
Entrepreneurial in mindset, with a strong sense of ownership over the business
Detail-oriented and operationally strong, with the ability to balance service, sales, and execution
