For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer III to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a consumer-facing environment.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java backend services for product attribute derivation and catalog enrichment
- Integrate and manage real-time messaging pipelines using Kafka
- Manage data storage and analytics using NoSQL databases and BigQuery
- Write robust unit and functional test cases to ensure code quality
- Leverage AI tools and workflows to automate development tasks and drive innovation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful catalog solutions
- Stay updated with backend engineering best practices and AI advancements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, Kafka, NoSQL databases, and BigQuery
- Experience writing unit and functional tests
- Proven ability to use AI tools to enhance productivity and code quality
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
