About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Director- Data Science to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Energy & Utilities environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $168,400 – $252,600 annually

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor multiple data science teams, fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration
- Ensure teams meet delivery commitments while balancing team morale and workload
- Develop talent through coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities
- Oversee staffing and resource alignment, ensuring client needs are met sustainably
- Establish technical standards and architectural blueprints for Azure programs
- Connect business goals to cloud architecture roadmaps, ensuring measurable outcomes
- Promote AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance the development process
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data science or related technical leadership roles
- Proven expertise in cloud architecture, particularly with Azure
- Strong background in team leadership and mentoring technical staff
- Experience in agile methodologies and modern engineering practices
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and alignment
- Ability to drive technical direction and align teams with organizational objectives
- Demonstrated success in architecture for scalable, reliable, and secure systems
