About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director AI Engineering (data Science) to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Business Services environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $180,000 – $240,000 annually
Responsibilities
  • Define technical investments aligned with business objectives
  • Mentor and manage AI/ML engineers and senior data scientists to foster high performance
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to prioritize AI initiatives and allocate resources
  • Lead design and development of custom transformer models for various applications
  • Drive innovation in deep learning architecture and integrations for specific data types
  • Oversee end-to-end workflows for model development and deployment
  • Engage with clients to translate business problems into AI solutions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred
  • 10+ years in data science and machine learning, with 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience leading AI/ML engineering teams in client-facing environments
  • Hands-on expertise in designing and training custom transformer architectures
  • Strong foundation in data science concepts, including statistical modeling and experimental design
  • Proficient in Python and core ML/DL libraries, primarily PyTorch
  • Familiarity with large-scale datasets in marketing or telecommunications
