Plant Manager – Manufacturing & Distribution Location: Onsite- Charleston-Huntington, WV Area Reports to: Director, Manufacturing & Distribution Position Summary: The Plant Manager leads all manufacturing and distribution operations for a U.S.-based industrial manufacturing facility. This role has end-to-end responsibility for procurement, production, warehousing, and order fulfillment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery performance, and cost control. The Plant Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence while ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation. Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Operations
Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, prioritizing and coordinating workflows to meet or exceed Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Cost objectives
Foster and sustain a safety-first culture, driving continuous improvement in workplace safety
Ensure standard operating procedures and best practices are consistently implemented and followed
Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce material and labor costs, and improve overall operational performance
Perform additional duties as assigned
Distribution & Logistics
Oversee warehouse and inventory management to ensure efficient space utilization, material flow, and inventory accuracy
Partner with purchasing and procurement teams to align production schedules with material availability while improving inventory turns
Ensure shipping and receiving operations meet on-time delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction targets
Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize freight costs, carrier performance, and outbound shipping efficiency
Improve order fulfillment processes by collaborating with supply chain and commercial teams to align customer expectations with operational capabilities
Maintain visual management tools and lead daily production and logistics meetings to track progress against key performance metrics
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, warehouse safety standards, and company policies
Leadership & Team Development
Provide strong leadership across manufacturing and distribution teams
Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and results
Drive engagement and alignment around operational and business objectives
Required Capabilities
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in manufacturing and distribution environments
Strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize supply chain, inventory, and order fulfillment processes
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to make sound, autonomous decisions aligned with business objectives
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing budgets and controlling costs within established company processes
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (metals, mining, industrial, heavy machinery, plastics, extrusion, wire and cable, etc)
Experience leading continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing and distribution
