About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Engineer to join our growing team in Canton, MI This role will be responsible for leading research and development projects focused on thermoplastics, supporting customer applications, and driving innovation in polymer materials.

Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize thermoplastic formulations (e.g., PP, PE)
- Collaborate with Sales to understand customer requirements
- Design and execute project plans
- Manage R&D project timelines and budgets
- Support Production, Sales, and Purchasing teams
- Conduct material testing and analysis
- Present technical findings to stakeholders
- Travel to customer sites to support on-site technical activities and trials
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a plastics or polymer-related company (material side preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Strong knowledge of plastics materials and molding processes
- Experience with polymer characterization and DOE
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to customer sites for on-site support
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in polymer compounding
- Experience in global materials companies
