You must be in the Southcentral Pennsylvania region. 2-5 years experience Juniper Environmental is seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist to join our team. This position requires 2-5 years of experience in environmental consulting, geology, environmental science, or related fields. Experience collecting soil and groundwater samples and evaluating laboratory data is necessary. Salary is commensurate with experience and will be discussed during interview. If interested, please email Angela Price at [email protected]. RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities of this position will vary based on needs and work, but can include the following:
Assisting with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in compliance with the 2021 ASTM Standard (1527-21)
Performing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, including performance of field work, sampling activities and associated reporting
Sampling of groundwater monitoring wells
Supervising the removal of underground storage tank (UST) systems and conducting environmental sampling as required by the regulatory agencies
Interacting and communicating with contractors, technicians, and project managers
Conducting NEPA Assessments
QUALIFICATIONS A qualified candidate must exhibit the following:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or a related discipline is required
Possess knowledge and experience of ASTM Phase I standards and other environmental protocols
Have reliable transportation for commute to job sites
Work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Drive up to 3 hours, one way, to job sites
Basic knowledge of computer operations and standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe)
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Additional skills or qualifications that may be useful but not necessary:
Wetland delineation
Property condition assessment
GIS
PG license
Grant writing
