RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this position will vary based on needs and work, but can include the following:
- Assisting with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in compliance with the 2021 ASTM Standard (1527-21)
- Performing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, including performance of field work, sampling activities and associated reporting
- Sampling of groundwater monitoring wells
- Supervising the removal of underground storage tank (UST) systems and conducting environmental sampling as required by the regulatory agencies
- Interacting and communicating with contractors, technicians, and project managers
- Conducting NEPA Assessments
QUALIFICATIONS
A qualified candidate must exhibit the following:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or a related discipline is required
- Possess knowledge and experience of ASTM Phase I standards and other environmental protocols
- Have reliable transportation for commute to job sites
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Drive up to 3 hours, one way, to job sites
- Basic knowledge of computer operations and standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Additional skills or qualifications that may be useful but not necessary:
- Wetland delineation
- Property condition assessment
- GIS
- PG license
- Grant writing
