**Job Description**

This position is located in our Dallas, TX location.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Experience in all facets of Management Labor Relations, including:

- Handling unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”)

- Researching and writing regarding management labor relations;

- Representing management in NLRB elections,

- Providing legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements,

- Negotiating and/or providing legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements,

- Handling grievance and arbitration proceedings,

- Obtaining mass picketing injunctions,

- Providing legal advice regarding protected concerted activity and other issues under the National Labor Relations Act (“NLRA”);

- Conduct management training regarding labor relations; and,

- Advising management in union work stoppage situations.

- The position is primarily a traditional labor position but it may include, from time to time, dealing with advice and counsel for clients regarding California workplace laws and other assignments, as needed.

**Skills and Educational Requirements:**

- JD from an ABA Accredited Law School

- 3+ years of Traditional Labor Law experience involving labor relations

Our **San Francisco office **is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex civil litigation in state, federal and administrative venues. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, and experience in a law firm environment.

Essential Functions:

- Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including proactive tracking of case progress and strict attention to deadlines.

- Draft initial versions of a variety of pleadings for matters in federal, state, and administrative forums.

- Prepare initial discovery documents for federal, state, and administrative proceedings.

- Draft initial discovery requests to plaintiff.

- Create detailed chronologies and timelines to highlight key events in case.

- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to gather materials necessary for discovery responses, motion practice, depositions, and other litigation tasks.

- Identify, organize and prepare documents for production, including applying Bates numbering, performing redactions, and maintaining production and privilege logs.

- Conduct cite-checking and Shepardizing as needed.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

- Proficiency in the Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

- Solid understanding of state and federal rules of civil procedure.

- Law firm experience in civil defense work; employment law background preferred.

- Familiarity with insurance carrier guidelines is a plus.

- Experience using timekeeping and billing software; knowledge of Intapp is a plus.

**Educational/Professional Requirements:**

Compliance with California Business & Professions Code 6450 for paralegal practice in the state of CA.

- An ABA-approved paralegal certificate is highly preferred, but alternative educational qualifications that satisfy the above standards will also be considered.

- CLE credits must be current and compliant, or the candidate must demonstrate a willingness to become compliant as part of their employment agreement.

- A minimum of 5 years’ litigation defense experience in a law firm setting is required—preferably in employment law, though this is not mandatory.

**Job Summary**

At Jackson Lewis, the legal secretary/legal administrative assistant is an important team member who supports multiple labor and employment litigation attorneys (4+) and the successful candidate will have strong skills in both legal and administrative support.

The focus of the legal administrative assistant support functions include, but are not limited to, drafting/revision of correspondence, pleadings and documents; experience with eFiling Systems in multiple courts (MO, IL, State and Federal); and conducting legal research. Editing and formatting skills required include advanced functions such as Table of Content (TOC) and Table of Authority (TOA), excellent proofreading, and attention to detail.

Administrative support functions include, but are not limited to, calendar maintenance, managing attorney expenses, submitting invoices, and travel arrangements.

The successful candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player possessing at least 35years recent litigation secretary experience.

**Essential Functions**

- Engage in the work of the attorney by demonstrating knowledge and awareness of current cases and projects, utilizing available resources to support case progress.

- Provide support to four (or more) attorneys in employment law matters and offer backup support as needed.

- Support attorneys with correspondence, pleadings, documents, and other documents as directed; proofread all documents to ensure accuracy.

- Manage document filing in multiple courts with various requirements, primarily using electronic filing. Perform office and client filing using internal document management systems.

The E Discovery Operations Specialist role is a non-attorney professional responsible for front-end intake, triage, and operational support for the firm’s eDiscovery matters. This role serves as the primary intake point for new matters, coordinates approvals and Statements of Work (SOWs), provides functional Relativity support, and manages small technology matters. The position is designed to improve efficiency, reduce administrative burden on eDiscovery attorneys, and enhance service to case teams and clients.

This role does not involve the practice of law or the provision of legal advice.

**Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

Matter Intake and Workflow Triage

- Serve as the first point of contact for new eDiscovery matters.

- Navigate the full eDiscovery lifecycle, including preservation, identification, collection, processing, review, and production.

- Identify and flag potential legal and technical challenges at intake (e.g., data sources, data volume, timelines, preservation risks, platform complexity).

- Assist the Senior Director of eDiscovery in assigning matters to the appropriate eDiscovery attorney based on complexity, experience, and workload.

- Maintain a customer-service-focused approach when interacting with case teams, attorneys, clients, and vendors.

Approvals and Statements of Work Coordination

- Obtain and track written approvals from insurance carriers (insured matters) or clients (non-insured matters) authorizing eDiscovery billing.

- Coordinate execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), including third-party vendor SOWs and internal JLID SOWs for technical services.

- Proactively follow up with case teams, carriers, clients, and vendors to secure required approvals and signatures.

- Maintain organized records of approvals and SOWs and route finalized documentation to the assigned eDiscovery attorney to authorize work to proceed.

- Serve as a point of contact for administrative and documentation-related eDiscovery inquiries.

Relativity Platform Support

- Provide functional support within Relativity.

- Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate complex technical or legal issues to eDiscovery attorneys or technical leadership as appropriate.

Project Management for Small Technology Matters

- Independently project manage small or low-complexity technology hosting matters.

- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and communications with internal teams and vendors.

- Monitor progress and scope to ensure matters remain on track.

- Identify when issues require escalation to an eDiscovery attorney due to increased risk or complexity.

Initiative and Team Support

- Act as a self-starter who proactively identifies where operational or technical support is needed across the eDiscovery team.

- Anticipate workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.

- Maintain consistent communication with attorneys and leadership.

- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the eDiscovery function.
