Job Description:
The commerce industry has experienced tremendous growth in recent years and continues to be one of the most competitive and fast-evolving spaces in the digital ecosystem. This role focuses on driving seller acquisition and onboarding efforts within the Collectibles, Luxury Resale, Art & Nature category for a rapidly growing livestream e-commerce platform.
The Business Development Manager will identify, engage, and onboard high-potential sellers while helping merchants successfully launch and scale through livestream commerce initiatives. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, marketplace knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, engage, and onboard high-potential sellers through phone calls, email outreach, video conferencing, and other communication channels
• Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects based on opportunity size, platform readiness, and live-commerce execution capabilities
• Develop a strong understanding of the collectibles, luxury resale, art, and nature marketplace segments to effectively position platform solutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal category, onboarding, and operations teams to drive seller acquisition and integration success
• Support onboarding processes and coordinate resources to optimize onboarding speed and seller experience
• Assist newly onboarded merchants with initial livestream commerce operations and launch activities
• Track outreach efforts, onboarding progress, and seller performance metrics to support business growth objectives
• Maintain strong relationships with merchants and provide ongoing support during early-stage platform adoption
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in business development, vendor acquisition, account management, marketplace partnerships, or e-commerce platforms
• Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders to drive business development and onboarding outcomes
• Familiarity with seller onboarding processes, marketplace ecosystems, and e-commerce best practices
• Experience working with collectibles, luxury goods resellers, art-focused merchants, or commodity-based sellers is a plus
• Experience supporting livestream commerce, social commerce, or digital marketplace platforms preferred
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills required, as the successful candidate will regularly communicate with merchants, cross-functional business teams, and external partners across North America
• Excellent collaboration and relationship management skills with the ability to drive initiatives forward across multiple teams
