Teach the General Chemistry 1 and 2 lecture and lab courses using evidence-based teaching practices
Remain current on effective teaching and learning practices that promote equity and inclusion in science
Teach other courses such as, but not limited to, Che 011.
Collaboratively and independently develop accessible course materials and curriculum
Serve on department and institutional committees
Accept any special assignments that further the mission of AACC
Availability to teach evenings and/or weekends as needed
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in chemistry or field that is represented in foundational chemistry courses with at least 18 hours of graduate courses in areas related to chemistry
Demonstrated experience with teamwork/collaboration in teaching and/or course development
Ability to deliver required, predefined course curriculum while incorporating individual knowledge and experiences to engage students and make the course relevant.
Experience teaching with learning management systems and electronic textbook resources
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in evidence-based pedagogy and classroom management techniques designed to maximize student success
Experience teaching community college introductory chemistry courses
Expertise with LMS and best practices for design of on-line components of a course.
Experience with curriculum development for face-to-face and/or online chemistry courses that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
Demonstrated ability to create accessible course materials
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in Spanish
