The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for supporting the housekeeping team in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, guest floors, and service spaces. This role plays a key part in delivering a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests while supporting operational efficiency within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas, guest corridors, service areas, and back of house spaces in accordance with Hyatt standards
- Support housekeeping operations by delivering linen, removing trash, and assisting room attendants as needed
- Ensure prompt response to housekeeping requests and departmental needs throughout the shift
- Operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals in a safe and efficient manner following established procedures
- Maintain organization of storage areas, housekeeping closets, and supplies to ensure readiness and efficiency
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and special assignments as directed by leadership
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication with housekeeping colleagues and other hotel departments
- Promote Hyatt’s Culture of Care through attention to detail and service excellence
Qualifications
- Prior cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate to heavy amount of weight, minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to multi task and manage time efficiently
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires
