Job Description We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst with experience in the Insurance domain (P&C, Life Insurance, or Workers Compensation) to collaborate with product owners, IT teams, and business stakeholders. This role focuses on gathering requirements, designing system solutions, and leading testing efforts, with a strong emphasis on SQL and data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with product owners, IT teams, and stakeholders to gather and document business requirements
Conduct interviews, workshops, and document analysis for system enhancements and new solutions
Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
Develop functional specifications, system design requirements, and workflow diagrams
Partner with architects, developers, and DevOps teams to design scalable solutions
Support project planning, including timelines, scope definition, and resource estimation
Participate in project implementation and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Conduct system testing, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Define acceptance criteria and ensure quality deliverables
Lead UAT sessions and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements
Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure clear communication
Provide training and support to end-users on system functionalities
Collaborate with data teams to ensure accurate data integration and reporting
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL and data visualization tools
Coordinate product releases with DevOps, release management, and support teams
Monitor product performance post-launch and implement improvements
Ensure compliance with regulations such as SOX and PCI-DSS
Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure application security
Support audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
Experience in Insurance domain (P&C, Life Insurance, or Workers Compensation)
Strong SQL experience
Experience with low code platforms
Experience with data visualization tools (preferred)
Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Hands-on experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, or containerization technologies
Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe
Skills Needed
Knowledge of automation tools, monitoring, and logging platforms
Proficiency with business analysis tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., ADO, Jira, Asana)
Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
Understanding of ERP/CRM systems and business processes
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Project management and organizational skills
Adaptability to new systems and technologies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
