What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Proactively prepare patient charts, ensuring all information is current and accurate
- Assist the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments, and procedures as requested
- Collect laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol, maintaining standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens
- Document clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital and clinical protocols
- Perform follow-up actions as directed and assist in patient/equipment preparation
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- High School Graduate or GED
- Medical Assistant certificate or completion of a US Armed Forces medical services training program
- Basic Life Support - AHA BLS certification
- Proficiency in computer programs utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Previous Medical Assistant experience
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Experience in designated specialty area
- Bilingual skills
