Job Title: GitHub Architect
Location - Remote
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled GitHub Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale source control, DevOps, and CI/CD solutions using GitHub. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise, Git workflows, automation, and integration with cloud platforms to enable secure, scalable, and efficient software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement GitHub Enterprise architecture , including repository structure, branching strategies, and access controls.
  • Define and enforce best practices for Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based development) across engineering teams.
  • Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions , ensuring automated build, test, and deployment processes.Integrate GitHub with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and DevOps tools for end-to-end delivery pipelines.
  • Implement security and compliance controls , including secret management, code scanning, Dependabot, and policy enforcement.
  • Design and manage repository governance , including permissions, audit logs, and compliance standards.
  • Optimize developer productivity through automation, reusable workflows, and templates .
  • Lead migration from legacy version control systems (SVN, Bitbucket, TFS) to GitHub.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to align DevSecOps practices .
  • Establish branch protection rules, PR review processes, and release management strategies .
  • Monitor and improve pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency .

Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong experience with GitHub Enterprise (Cloud/Server)
• Expertise in Git, branching strategies, and version control concepts
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and workflow automation
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, security, and compliance practices
• Experience integrating GitHub with tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, JIRA, Azure DevOps
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with enterprise-scale GitHub migrations
• Knowledge of SAST/DAST and code quality tools
• Familiarity with API integrations and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• GitHub certifications (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security )
