About the role
We are looking for a Structural Engineer (PE) to join and help grow the engineering department outside of the calculations we provide for our in-house projects and assist in the workload associated with our existing deck, canopy, pergola, and railing projects. We have a relaxed culture with an entrepreneur spirit, hence our desire to find another team member to assist our Director of Engineering’s efforts in growing our existing external engineering services and support the growth of our existing business.
The Lead Structural Engineer will assist the Director of Engineering in supervising staff’s day-to-day responsibilities, checking calculations, stamping and signing calculation packages. You may also be responsible for all sizes and types of projects including our aluminum decks and railings, aluminum and steel connections within our deck system, connections to precast and wood structures, and external engineering projects mostly utilizing wood design.

Responsibilities :
- Work with the Director of Engineering and Assistant Lead Structural Engineer to provide technical excellence.
- Work with Engineers in Training already on staff.
- Manage the schedule to achieve a successful project outcome.
Qualifications :
- Accredited bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering.
- Structural I PE or SE, or a willingness to get your SE is a requirement.
- The ability to sign and stamp calculation packages.
- 5+ years of experience in structural or civil engineering.
- Experience designing structures utilizing wood or steel and steel connection design is a plus.
- An organized person who can balance the demands of several projects going on at the same time.
