Position Summary
The Assistant Category Manager supports category strategy and execution across center store product areas, including grocery, snacks, and general merchandise. This role focuses on promotions, pricing, vendor coordination, merchandising, and data analysis to drive sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Process promotional billing, vendor rebates, and support vendor setup
• Maintain and validate pricebook data including item setup, cost, and retail pricing
• Conduct sales and margin analysis to support category decisions
• Manage promotions, planograms, and merchandising updates across systems
• Support planogram creation and store resets and rollouts
• Coordinate product distributions and track delivery to stores
• Monitor loyalty programs and store-level execution
• Collaborate with wholesalers and vendors to ensure accurate product flow
• Assist with store transitions, including acquisitions and conversions
• Support assortment and pricing strategy across multiple center store categories
Qualifications
• 1–3 years of experience in retail, merchandising, or category support
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and retail systems
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
