Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for a Space Industrial Base Activities and Assessments Analyst supporting SAF/SQ (Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration) position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success. The ideal candidate will provide analytical and coordination support to assess the health, capabilities, and resilience of the national security space industrial base. The analyst supports the Department of the Air Force efforts to evaluate industry capacity, emerging technology providers, and supply chain risks affecting space acquisition programs and mission readiness. This role works with SAF/SQ leadership, acquisition organizations, industry partners, and other government stakeholders to analyze industrial base trends, identify capability gaps, and support strategies that strengthen the domestic space industrial base. The position contributes to assessments, reports, and policy recommendations that inform leadership decisions regarding the development, sustainment, and expansion of the national security space industrial ecosystem. Key Responsibilities The Space Industrial Base Activities and Assessment Analyst will
Conduct assessments of the national security space industrial base, including industry capabilities, supply chain resilience, and emerging technology providers
Analyze industrial base trends, market developments, and technology innovation relevant to Department of the Air Force space programs
Support development of industrial base assessments, reports, and briefings for SAF/SQ leadership
Identify industrial base risks, supply chain vulnerabilities, and capacity limitations affecting space acquisition programs
Coordinate with Space Systems Command, acquisition program offices, industry partners, and other government organizations to gather information for industrial base analysis
Monitor developments in commercial space markets, emerging companies, and advanced space technologies impacting national security space capabilities
Support initiatives designed to strengthen industrial base resilience, expand supplier networks, and encourage innovation within the space sector
Assist with development of strategic planning documents, capability assessments, and policy recommendations related to the space industrial base
Support coordination of industry engagement activities, workshops, and collaboration initiatives
Maintain documentation and tracking of industrial base activities, assessments, and analytical findings supporting SAF/SQ priorities
Skills And Experience The Space Industrial Base Activities and Assessment Analyst must have
Active Top Secret security clearance preferred, with SCI eligibility
Experience supporting space acquisition programs, industrial base analysis, or technology assessments in a DoW, Air Force, Space Force, or federal government environment
Knowledge of the national security space enterprise, space systems development, and the commercial space industry
Familiarity with industrial base assessments, supply chain risk analysis, and technology market research
Experience analyzing industry capabilities, emerging technologies, and acquisition impacts on space programs
Ability to develop analytical reports, assessments, and executive briefings for senior leadership
Experience coordinating with government organizations, acquisition program offices, and industry stakeholders
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to analyze complex technical, market, and policy factors affecting the space industrial base
Education and Certification The Space Industrial Base Activities and Assessment must meet the following Required
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, National Security Studies, or Supply Chain Management
Preferred
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), Technology Management, National Security Studies, or a related field
Defense Acquisition Workforce Certification (DAWIA / DAWIA-equivalent) in Program Management, Systems Engineering, or Acquisition
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
Supply chain or industrial base analysis certifications relevant to defense or aerospace sectors
Professional certifications related to acquisition, program management, or technology analysis
