The Fred Hutch Cancer Center GU Oncology team is looking for an APP (ARNP/PA-C) to provide evaluation and medical management of GU Oncology patients as part of the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. The incumbent will follow patients during their therapy and provide medical supportive care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.

**Responsibilities**

-  Provide medical care, coordination of care, and follow-up for clinic patients in a collaborative, and/or independent fashion, while maintaining effective communication with their team

-  Autonomously manage toxicity of treatment and/or underlying disease with physician consultation as needed

-  Effectively communicate with Attending Physician, Nursing, Pharmacy, and other team members.

-  Address EPIC inbox results, questions, refills, etc. in a timely manner

-  Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research, including patient, caregiver, and peer education

-  Follow plan of care as outlined by the attending physician – i.e., ensure staging studies (imaging, labs, etc.) are ordered at the appropriate interval; ensure appropriate physician and/or APP follow up is arranged at agreed upon intervals.

Collaborative Data Services (CDS) provides scientific support to researchers at the Fred Hutch. We are currently seeking a part-time English-Spanish Translator who will be responsible for translating and/or reviewing a variety of materials including but not limited to study documents and recordings of interviews and focus groups. The incumbent follows strict regulatory guidelines in accomplishing work assignments. Non-routine decisions are referred to the supervisor. The position reports to the CDS Project Manager.

This is a part-time position, planned for 15-19 hours per week.

**Responsibilities**

-  Translating research study documents, web copy, marketing materials, etc., from English to Spanish (forward and back translation).

-  Transcribing recorded phone interviews and focus groups from English to Spanish (forward and back translation).

-  Performing sight translation when needed

-  Understanding the study client’s target demographic and be able to render a full adaptation of the translated material.

A Fred Hutch Cancer Center ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of patients experiencing acute clinical status changes or urgent situations throughout the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. The ACE Clinic at Fred Hutch South Lake Union campus is expanding to a new clinic site located on the University of Washington’s Montlake campus. The Adeyemi Lab is seeking one part-time paid**Research Intern ** from Biology, Biochemistry, Bio-Engineering or related fields of study to help support ongoing research in the discovery of genes involved in PARP inhibitor resistance.

The Adeyemi Lab (https://research.fredhutch.org/adeyemi/en.html) at Fred Hutch studies how cells repair DNA damage. We utilize clinically approved DNA damaging agents such as cisplatin, hydroxyurea, and PARP inhibitors to leverage different aspects of DNA repair pathways. Recently, we have conducted a pan genome (12,000 genes) screen for genes involved with PARP inhibitor resistance in cells that lack BRCA1. Our screen has identified 260+ genes (70 selected for validation) that confer resistance and are involved in diverse cellular processes spanning novel DNA repair enzymes, metabolism, autophagy, and ubiquitination. We are looking for undergraduates with a long-term dedication to research to help characterize and validate these hits. A minimum of 2 years of research time is required to develop laboratory skills and independence. As such, we strongly prefer sophomores/juniors or seniors pursuing a gap year. Authorship is expected as a result of this long-term project.

For context, BRCA1 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRCA1) is a gene that regulates double-strand DNA break repair and deficiency in BRCA1 is implicated in increased risk of numerous cancers such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer. PARP inhibitors block single-strand DNA repair and can lead to PARP trapping on DNA leading to replication stress. In cells that lack BRCA1 (deficient in dsDNA repair) and treated with PARP inhibitors (blocking ssDNA repair), cells die from the combined defects in DNA repair, a concept called synthetic lethality. A Fred Hutch Cancer Center ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of multiple service lines of adult oncology patients at our community site at Northwest Hospital. They will actively coordinate the complex care of cancer patients undergoing both systemic anti-cancer therapy and radiation therapy. The incumbent will manage side-effects of these therapies, order appropriate laboratory and radiographic studies; prescribe medications and refer patient to other specialists as necessary.  The incumbent may provide for post-treatment cancer patients follow-up visits for the medically indicated period after completion of treatment. The incumbent will also provide psychological support to patients by participating in patient and/or family teaching and refer patients to community agencies and other resources to promote optimal adjustment and functioning.

This position requires the ability to lead other clinical staff, be accountable for the work required in this position, the ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment, and the relentless pursuit of excellent patient centered care. This clinic provides a broad range of services including GI, Lung, GU, Breast, and Hematologic Malignancies and Radiation therapy.

This position is for a **Staff Scientist ** to engage in biomedical studies that apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches and methods with the long-term objective of improving clinical cancer care. The training, project development, and application will be mentored by Dr. Peter Nelson and Dr. Jeff Leek, and members of their research groups. The projects will integrate high dimensional clinical data with outcomes to specific therapeutics to generate patient similars or digital twins. The studies will also develop methodology to produce synthetic control cohorts for comparative assessments against novel therapeutics evaluated in clinical trials. The project will interface with clinical and laboratory investigators involved in the management of prostate cancer, and researchers developing bioinformatics methods that exploit AI technologies in the Fred Hutch Data Science Lab.

The Fred Hutch Data Science Lab is involved in large, education focused initiatives and biomedical research funded by NIH grants. These projects involve delivering training materials to researchers to help catalyze their work in a scalable manner, as well as innovating new methods for understanding or treating disease.

-  Primary research using AI and other statistical methods to better personalize treatment of cancer patients from large-scale data.

The staff scientist will need to conduct most study tasks independently with minimal to modest oversight aside from project steering efforts.

A Fred Hutch ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of Breast Oncology patients at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. They follow patients during their chemotherapy and provide medical supportive care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. This position also provides opportunities for autonomous practice within the Women’s Wellness Follow-up Clinic The ARNP/PA-C assesses and manages basic health needs of patients, addresses treatment toxicities, performs procedures, monitors for cancer progression or recurrence, and consults with professional peers as needed. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.
