Job title: Grants Manager Department: Executive Salary Range: $72,000 -$80,000 FLSA status: Full-Time, Exempt Work conditions: Office environment in a historic building, not ADA accessible. Regular 40-hour work week. 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to meet deadlines, attend meetings and to support events outside of normal work hours required. Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO),Fort Monroe Authority (FMA) Position Summary: The Grants Manager is responsible for identifying, applying for, and securing local, state, and federal grants to support the Fort Monroe Authority (FMA) in its programs and initiatives. Managing and overseeing the entire grant lifecycle application process from prospecting to close out, this position will administer the Fort Monroe Authority’s grant program. As a member of the Executive team, the Grants Manager will work closely with senior leaders to support programs delivered by the Authority. Responsibilities: 1) Research and monitors legislative announcements, publications, registers, directives, and other research methodologies to identify available grant opportunities aligned with the Fort Monroe Authority’s mission, strategic plan, and programs. 2) Directs, plans, develops, and manages the grant application process, to include application advertisement, facilitate and assist with review and decision-making documentation, and budget preparation. 3) Reviews grant conditions and grant awards, ensuring that all grant requirements are addressed prior to grant acceptance. 4) Oversees the administrative and financial aspects of awarded grants as assigned, including tracking expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and ensuring all required reporting is completed and submitted. 5) Assist in developing strategic funding sources to increase overall grants revenue. 6) Develops, formulates, and implements Fort Monroe Authority wide grant related policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure program compliance. 7) Maintains a central reporting system and/or software for organizational wide grant activity. Prepares reports for grant activity and progress to senior leadership. 8) Performs other duties as assigned. Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management or related experience preferred and/or equivalent related experience or coursework culminating, in the award of, a bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing.
Minimum of three years of experience in the preparation of federal, state, and local grant proposals, with a proven track record of success. Experience working with a public, non-profit, or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is preferred.
Demonstrated working knowledge of and/or experience to grants administration process such as application development, compliance monitoring, budgeting, or reporting.
Proven experience with program administration, multiple grants and/or contracts management, project coordination, budgeting.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines, and to research and analyze information to support decision making.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as with a team and can manage multiple applications, maintain accurate documentation, and meet various deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and grant tracking management software and databases.
