**The Role**

We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with 5+ years of product engineering experience to join our Data, Platforms, and Infrastructure team. You'll implement features that help build resilient communities - from real-time flood risk visualizations to automated permit workflows that cut response times from weeks to hours. This is a product ownership role where you'll work directly with government users who are on the frontlines of climate adaptation.

You'll work on both backend and customer-facing features using TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL with PostGIS for geospatial analysis, and AWS. Your work will include processing hundreds of different geospatial datasets, creating intuitive interfaces for complex grant application workflows, and building APIs that integrate with a variety of different government systems - modernizing how America prepares for and adapts to climate change.

**What You'll Do**

- Gather around the campfire. Engineering, product, design, and customer success aren't siloed teams — we build together. You'll hear feedback from the people who use what you ship, and that context shapes what comes next.

- Drive projects from ambiguity to delivery. You'll get a problem and a goal, not a step-by-step plan. We trust our engineers to break down complexity, make smart tradeoffs, and keep things moving.

- Work with the best tools, not just the best people. We're all-in on AI-assisted development — Cursor, Claude Code, and whatever comes next. If you've already used AI to plan and execute projects from a spec or scaffold out entire features, you'll fit right in.

- Build the whole thing. You'll own features from database modeling to pixel-perfect UI — no tossing work over the wall to "the other team." New API endpoint in the morning, polished frontend by the afternoon? That's a Wednesday here.

- Ship constantly, and ship things that matter. This isn't a maintenance gig. Roughly 80% of your time goes toward new capabilities our customers are asking for, with the rest spent making the systems underneath faster, more reliable, and easier to work in.

- Own what you ship. The people who build the system are the best ones to keep it healthy. We run a fair on-call rotation and invest heavily in keeping alerts meaningful and manageable. We treat reliability as a craft — not a chore.

- Raise the bar for everyone. How we build matters as much as what we build. You'll help shape our engineering culture — improving our processes, refining our tech stack, and mentoring teammates along the way.

**What We're Looking For**

- A product engineer, not just a coder. 5+ years of experience building and shipping features that real users depend on — not just writing code, but owning outcomes.

- Full-stack fluency. Deep comfort with TypeScript, React, and working across the stack — backend to frontend and everything in between.

- Data at your core. Strong SQL and database design instincts — you think in schemas, not just queries.

- A history of leading by example. Through mentorship, code reviews, and sound technical decision-making — not because it's in your job description, but because it's how you work.

- At home in ambiguity. A track record of taking unclear requirements and delivering complex features independently. You thrive in a startup environment where ownership runs deep and the boundaries of your role are whatever the team needs.

- Respect for the systems around the code. Enough familiarity with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and developer tooling to improve how the team ships — not just what it ships.

- Bonus points. Experience with AWS, containerization, PostGIS or geospatial tech, ETL pipelines, or government/climate tech — but we'd rather have someone with the right instincts than the perfect resume.

Senior Full-Stack Engineer

**About The Role**

As a Deployment Specialist, you will own the end-to-end deployment experience for our customers — from discovery to go-live — ensuring the outcome aligns with business impact. You’ll act at the intersection of strategy, project management, and operational delivery, collaborating with customers, internal teams, and technical resources to make deployments high-quality, repeatable, and outcome-driven.

**What You'll Do**

Customer Discovery & Planning

- Lead structured workshops with customers to uncover business objectives, operational constraints, and success metrics.

- Translate findings into a clear deployment roadmap and set of deliverables.

- Define project scope, milestones, dependencies, and governance.

Project Leadership

- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer during deployment.

- Coordinate across cross-functional teams (Implementation Specialist, Forward Deployed Engineer, Customer Success Manager, internal stakeholders) to ensure alignment and momentum.

- Proactively identify risks, manage dependencies, and escalate when necessary.

- Provide regular status updates to both the customer and internal leadership.

Solution Design & Oversight

- Partner with the Implementation Specialist to ensure system configurations align with business goals.

- Work with the Forward Deployed Engineer to scope integrations and customizations.

- Ensure that deployment deliverables map back to the business requirements and success criteria.

Customer Enablement & Handoff

- Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and drive readiness for go-live.

- Collaborate with the Customer Success Manager to ensure a smooth transition to the ongoing success phase.

- Document lessons learned, refine the playbook, and drive continuous improvement across deployments.

Deployment Strategist

**About the position: ** We're looking for a data-driven Growth Marketing Manager to join our marketing team. In this role, you will be the owner of new pipeline generation, driving measurable, repeatable growth to support our sales team. You will:

- Own pipeline creation strategy and execution. You will drive impact across key metrics including demos booked, Sales Qualified Opportunities, ARR, and conversion rates, partnering with leadership to hit ambitious targets.

- Optimize high-ROI channels. You will evaluate performance and manage budget allocation to maximize efficiency in our existing high-ROI channels.

- Build and execute new channel strategies. You will expand our reach through press, SEO, partnerships, and social platforms, determining the best ways to scale our presence across our different audiences/segments.

- Partner with Sales on Account-Based Marketing (ABM). You will identify high-priority government agencies and execute tailored campaigns, ads, and personalized engagement tactics to support outbound efforts.

- Design and manage lifecycle nurture flows. You will own automated email sequences and persona-specific onboarding drips, partnering with Customer success teams and Content teams to align messaging with the complex government buyer journey.

- Analyze and report on performance. You will track CAC efficiency, conversion funnels (MQL → Closed Won), and marketing-sourced pipeline to continuously improve our ROI.

- Travel Requirements: This role involves occasional travel, approximately 2–3 times per quarter. Travel is primarily for industry conferences, client dinners, and scheduled company offsites.

**About you: ** As a key driver of our growth engine, you will help us identify and connect with the government leaders who need Forerunner most. In general, you might be a good fit if you:

- Have 6-8 years of B2B growth experience. You have proven success navigating long, complex B2B sales cycles (experience in GovTech, HealthTech, or RegTech is a plus).

- Are a master of the modern marketing stack. You have deep proficiency with CRM and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or Attio) and know how to leverage ABM tools to drive results.

- Have a data-driven, analytical mindset. You rely on metrics to make decisions. You are comfortable tracking attribution, analyzing funnel efficiency, and optimizing CAC.

- Are a collaborative partner to Sales. You understand that marketing doesn’t exist in a silo. You have experience working closely with sales teams to align on target accounts and drive conversion.

- Are comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity. We're a startup tackling a massive problem. You should be nimble in prioritizing work, testing new channels, and defining structure where there is none.
