About the role

Chief Financial Officer | PE-Backed Multisite Healthcare Platform | Remote with travel
The Opportunity
Finatal has been retained by an established middle-market private equity firm to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for one of their multi-site healthcare portfolio businesses.
This is a late-hold asset. The sponsor has a strong track record of building enterprise value across multi-site healthcare platforms and is now looking for a CFO who can drive the business toward a well-capitalised exit. The incoming CFO will be a central architect of that process - building the financial infrastructure, delivering investor-grade reporting, and sitting confidently at the board table with the sponsor and lenders.
The CFO will report directly to the CEO and will have full ownership of finance, accounting, FP&A, revenue cycle management, IT, tax and treasury.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with the CEO and private equity sponsor to develop and execute the long-term financial strategy, with a clear focus on exit readiness and value creation.
  • Build and strengthen the accounting and controllership function - improving systems, processes and policies to establish a controls framework capable of supporting a business at this stage of growth.
  • Accelerate the close cycle and own the relationship with external auditors; deliver timely, accurate and audit-ready financial statements.
  • Establish robust KPI dashboards and management reporting that give the management team and sponsors real-time visibility into performance across all locations.
  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting and forecasting - developing a rigorous multi-year model that informs capital allocation and growth decisions.
  • Lead technology and systems transformation across the business - driving ERP, IT infrastructure and broader systems implementations that underpin scalable growth.
  • Manage the company's debt facilities, lender relationships and covenant compliance in a leveraged environment; serve as primary financial liaison to the PE sponsor.
  • Lead financial due diligence and deal structuring on acquisitions, and drive post-merger integration to capture operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with the CEO on revenue cycle strategy, payer contract optimisation and the financial architecture of the physician partnership model.
  • Build and develop the finance team across all functional areas, coaching and retaining talent as the organisation scales.
  • Coordinate all due diligence requests and financial workstreams in preparation for the eventual exit process.

Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of senior financial leadership, with meaningful experience inside PE-backed businesses operating in a leveraged environment.
  • Track record of delivering results in a multi-site healthcare services business - physician practice management, behavioural health, denta, urgent care or closely adjacent verticals preferred.
  • Strong accounting and controllership foundation - a CPA credential is strongly preferred; must be comfortable owning the accounting function end-to-end.
  • Demonstrable experience transforming finance functions in high-growth environments -improving systems, processes and reporting where infrastructure did not previously exist.
  • Hands-on experience with complex third-party payer environments and revenue cycle management.
  • Experience leading or participating in ERP and broader technology implementations.
  • M&A experience across financial due diligence and post-merger integration in a PE-backed context.
  • A builder and operator - comfortable in environments where the infrastructure does not yet fully exist; hands-on without being a micromanager.
  • Credible and composed in front of lenders, sponsors and external advisors.
  • Open to US-based remote candidates; periodic travel to company headquarters required.
