Job Summary Security Engineer
- Support and enhance system and network security for research-driven environments.
- Partner with researchers and engineering teams to implement practical, flexible security controls.
- Assist with security tooling, vulnerability management, and improving overall security posture.
- Evaluate and address security risks while maintaining operational agility for research teams.
- Contribute to secure development practices and infrastructure within cloud and software environments.
- Perform security assessments and provide remediation recommendations across platforms and tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support ongoing security initiatives.
- Work independently with minimal oversight in a flexible, fast-paced setting.
- Apply strong knowledge of system and network security best practices.
- Utilize technical experience with tools such as GitHub Advanced Security, SecurityScorecard, Checkmarx, and AWS security.
- Balance enabling innovation with maintaining practical security, avoiding excessive policy or governance.
- Hybrid work schedule: Onsite 2 days/week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays); 6-month contract-to-hire with possible extension.
