About The Role The Senior Systems Engineer, Data Management, plays a critical role within our Systems Engineering team, primarily supporting our field sales professionals by providing expert technical assistance during the sales process. This position involves leading the development and implementation of complex, specialized products, applications, and solutions tailored to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data management solutions and demonstrate the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences. Based in the East Region of the US, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring our customers receive innovative, relevant, and interoperable solutions that drive their success. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, data management, or a similar technical role is required. Strong technical expertise in data storage, backup, recovery, and data integration solutions is essential. Proven experience in pre-sales support, customer relationship management, and solution design is highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary to articulate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Certifications such as CISSP, VMware, or Dell EMC Proven Professional are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Provide pre-sales technical support to field sales teams, assisting in the development of tailored data management solutions for clients.
Conduct comprehensive customer needs analysis to understand their current environment and anticipate future requirements beyond existing solutions.
Design and prepare detailed product specifications, proposals, and impact presentations to showcase the value of Dell’s data management offerings.
Verify the operability and compatibility of complex product configurations within customer environments through testing and validation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, support, and sales to ensure seamless solution delivery.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
Assist in developing technical documentation, white papers, and best practices to support customer success.
Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, and training sessions to effectively communicate technical solutions and value propositions.
