About The Role
The Human Resources Coordinator at North Star Seafood, LLC plays a vital role in supporting the HR department's efforts to attract, develop, and retain talent. This position is responsible for assisting in the execution of HR programs and processes that align with our organizational goals. The role involves providing administrative support, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. The HR Coordinator will work closely with HR Business Partners, hiring managers, and employees to facilitate effective communication, streamline HR operations, and enhance employee engagement. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources management or a related field. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is preferred; however, equivalent work experience and training will be considered. Certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), such as PHR or SPHR, is highly desirable. Proficiency in HRIS systems and other people management software is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A solid understanding of employment laws and regulations, along with excellent communication and organizational skills, will contribute to success in this role.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to execute core HR processes including performance management, talent development, total rewards, and compensation strategies.
  • Coordinate and conduct transactional HR activities such as new hire orientation, onboarding, exit interviews, and transitional return-to-work procedures.
  • Support in reviewing, interpreting, and administering employment policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality for active and terminated employees.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, copying, posting notices, scanning, and handling correspondence related to HR functions.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues. Conduct employee investigations and assist in conflict resolution efforts.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support recruitment efforts and staffing plans.
  • Support payroll activities by maintaining e-Time systems and ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Assist in cultivating an inclusive and diverse workplace culture through the administration of engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in employee engagement activities aimed at improving satisfaction and retention levels across the organization.
