About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Caris Life Sciences. In this role, you will be responsible for performing complex molecular and histopathological testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results that directly impact patient treatment plans. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Certification from a recognized professional body such as ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on molecular diagnostics, histology, or genomic testing. Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance procedures, and regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA, HIPAA) is essential. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are crucial for success in this role. Proficiency in laboratory information systems and data analysis software is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Perform and oversee complex molecular diagnostic tests, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, next-generation sequencing, and other advanced genomic techniques, ensuring adherence to established protocols and quality standards.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Interpret and validate laboratory data, preparing comprehensive reports that support clinical decision-making.
Participate in routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with clinical teams to review test requests, discuss findings, and contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions.
Contribute to the development, validation, and implementation of new laboratory assays and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the laboratory.
Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and new team members, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
