About The Role
The International Executive Service Corps is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in expanding our project portfolio by identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships with stakeholders, and securing funding for our initiatives. The Business Development Manager will work closely with program teams, partners, and donors to develop strategic proposals and ensure the successful implementation of projects aligned with our organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in international development, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful fundraising and partnership development in a nonprofit or consulting environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in business development, proposal writing, or program management within the international development sector is required. Demonstrated success in securing funding from government agencies, multilateral organizations, and private donors is essential. Strong understanding of global economic trends, development policies, and sector-specific knowledge such as trade, investment, or capacity building is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills are necessary, along with proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus. The candidate must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities to support IESC’s projects globally. This includes conducting market research, analyzing donor priorities, and developing strategic partnerships with governments, private sector entities, and international organizations. The role involves preparing comprehensive proposals, budgets, and technical narratives that meet donor requirements and align with organizational objectives. The manager will also oversee the development of concept notes, expressions of interest, and project work plans. Additionally, they will coordinate with program teams to ensure technical and financial compliance during proposal development and project implementation. Monitoring and reporting on funding trends and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities will be a key aspect of this position. The role also requires representing IESC at relevant conferences, meetings, and networking events to promote the organization’s expertise and expand its reach.
