About The Role
The Business Planning Analyst at Spectrum plays a vital role in supporting financial planning and analysis across various operational areas. This position involves working closely with finance leadership and operational teams to manage budgets, develop financial models, and generate insights that influence strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to interpret complex data into actionable recommendations. This role is essential in ensuring financial efficiency, accuracy in forecasting, and continuous improvement of financial processes. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to Spectrum’s strategic growth while developing professional expertise in financial analysis and planning.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. A minimum of two years of experience in business planning, financial analysis, or a similar role is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting tools. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration across teams and management levels. Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory, with advanced Excel skills preferred. Additional qualifications include the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, work independently and collaboratively, and interpret financial data accurately.
Responsibilities
  • Support efforts to streamline and enhance the customer experience by analyzing operational spending trends and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, conduct monthly variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, and support leadership review sessions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to aid in forecasting, planning, and the annual budgeting process.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting cycle and ongoing expense reforecasting to ensure accuracy and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand key cost drivers and improve forecast precision.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize financial reporting processes and support ad hoc analysis to address emerging business needs.
  • Participate in financial reviews, providing insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
