**HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT **

We are seeking a results-driven **Business Development Manager ** with strong technical expertise in **semiconductor systems (preferably PVD) ** to drive growth across key markets including compound semiconductor, advanced packaging, MEMS, photonics, and R&D sectors. This individual will identify strategic opportunities, foster key customer relationships, and work closely with product, sales, and engineering teams to position our advanced vacuum deposition solutions for market success.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE **

- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow sales of PVD/evaporation tools in North America and/or global markets.

- Identify, qualify, and pursue new customers and market segments (e.g., foundries, OEMs, research labs, universities).

- Build strong technical and commercial relationships with key stakeholders including engineers, scientists, and procurement teams.

- Understand customer application needs and align them with product capabilities and value propositions.

- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and service teams to define customer-driven features and solutions.

- Lead technical sales discussions and presentations; support customer evaluations and proposal development.

- Track market trends, competitor activity, and technology roadmaps to shape growth strategies.

- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand visibility and build networks.

- Deliver accurate forecasts, pipeline tracking, and performance reporting.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL **

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field (advanced degree a plus).

- Minimum 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or product management within the semiconductor equipment industry.

- Proven ability to understand and communicate complex technical solutions to a broad audience.

- Strong network within compound semiconductor, R&D, or photonics sectors is highly desirable.

- Self-starter with excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

- Ability to travel up to 30–50% as needed (domestic and occasional international).

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Knowledge of vacuum science, thin film deposition processes, and cleanroom environments.

- Experience working with global cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales pipeline management (e.g., Salesforce).

**HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT **

This position encompasses the responsibilities of purchasing and customer support. The position generates and maintains purchase orders with other Ferrotec facilities to support the needs of the customer. Duties include buying material and components in compliance with company policy, applicable federal laws or regulations. In addition, this position will communicate regularly with specific customers. This positions will review customer purchase orders, enter/maintain orders in the company operating system and in accordance with J-Sox compliance.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE **

- **Supply Chain Management: ** Responsible for procurement to Ferrotec and non-Ferrotec Suppliers of critical materials, components, equipment, and services; and for the management of the resulting customer/supplier relationships. Interfaces with and provides information to Accounting, Logistics, Planning, QC, and Sales personnel as required. Enters purchase orders to appropriate Ferrotec facilities in support of customer requirements. Follows-up to make sure that we maintain “on-time delivery status” safeguarding the customers’ delivery requirements. Initiates outside work order processes as needed. Processes “dummy” packing lists as required. Reviews weekly backlog report and follow-ups on any “late” or potentially late orders as necessary. Works with logistics to coordinate shipments as necessary. Works with QC to process, track and issue RMA’s and associated credit memos.

- **Customer Support: ** Answers requests from customers and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsible for processing sales orders, bookings, releases and shipments for assigned customers in Oracle. Participates in any required meetings with the customer to discuss scheduling and commercial issues. Obtains and distributes customer forecasts to the appropriate Ferrotec Groups. Reviews customer backlog report, follows-up on ship schedules with the factory, and modifies change orders as needed with production. Processes, tracks and issues RMA’S and associated credit memos as needed. Maintains customer files/filing as required by company. Participates with other peers to audit order entry in compliance with J-Sox requirements. Prepares support information to sales and management as needed. May require visiting assigned Customers.

- **Additional: ** Works with document control to have new part numbers added to the system. May require international communications across various time zones. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel.
